Where it al Began
1970's
Our firm had its roots in a number of individuals who practiced from the early 1970's. The three key partners are Mr. Gerrit Woest, Mr. Hilko von Zwietring and Mr. Dieter Wenhold.
Mr. Gerrit Woest joined Jona Viljoen in July 1972 at a small firm in Rustenburg. Besides Mr Viljoen, Gerrit Woest had at different stages in his career fellow partners being Stoffie de Klerk and the late Johan Vorster.
Mr. Hilko von Zwietring qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1975. He practiced in Rustenburg with different partners until 1984.
Mr. Dieter Wenhold qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1974 and became a partner at Altmann Brugman until 1984.
1980's
From 1984 until 1987 Mr. Dieter Wenhold joined Hilko Von Zwietring and the late Kirsten Schreuder. Hilko Von Zwietring, Dieter Wenhold and Kirsten Schreuder practiced under the name of Schreuder Wenhold Von Zwietring. After Kirsten Schreuder passed away in 1987 Dieter Wenhold and Hilko Von Zwietring practiced as Wenhold Von Zwietring.
2004 - 2011
Gerrit Woest practiced on his own for most of his career as GH Woest Ouditeure. Jacques Malan joined Gerrit Woest in 2004 and they started a new partnership Woest Malan Ouditeure Inc. in 2005. During 2006 Woest Malan Ouditeure Inc. merged with Wenhold Von Zwietring and created the firm Woest Malan Wenhold, better known as WMW. Jaco Volschenk joined Woest Malan Wenhold as a partner in March 2009. Hilko Von Zwietring retired in 2011.
2012
On 1 November 2012 Woest Malan Wenhold Inc. became PwC Rustenburg and traded as such until the end of 2015.
2016
In January 2016 the firm returned to its roots and operated the practice under the name of WMW.
